Meet Courtney Hill Utt, native Austinite, and the creative force behind CHU Interiors LLC. After growing up in the heart of Austin, Courtney’s passion for design led her to pursue a degree in Interior Design at the University of Georgia, where she honed her craft. Following her graduation, Courtney's career took her to New York City & Dallas, where she worked for prestigious, high-end residential design firms and learned and honed invaluable practical and technical design skills. Those experiences, along with her professional ambition and desire to return to her Austin roots, fueled her decision to start her namesake design firm,CHU Interiors LLC.
Courtney's experienced background, coupled with her innate business acumen, integrity, and keen design sensibility, uniquely equip her as an interior designer. She takes pride in her ability to craft spaces that seamlessly blend her signature style with her clients' preferences, resulting in truly distinctive and functional interiors.
While Courtney’s preferred aesthetic favors a more relaxed & organic feel, she has demonstrated the ability to successfully design towards the varying styles of each client. Courtney draws inspiration from art, architecture, fashion, travel, and the natural world. Her love for the outdoors is apparent through her ability to “bring the outside in” by seamlessly incorporating various organic elements, textures and materials into her spaces. Her passion for travel and exploring is constantly inspiring and evolving her designs into a thoughtful and curated product. At CHU Interiors LLC, Courtney's commitment to creating exceptional spaces is unwavering, and her designs are a testament to her dedication to the craft.

Meet Gretchen Gottsacker, a versatile talent, and an integral member of the CHU Interiors team. As junior designer and project manager, Gretchen brings her unique artistic perspective and a wide array of design experience to our projects at CHU Interiors.
Gretchen's journey led her to CHU Interiors after earning a degree in Studio Art from the University of Colorado. Her artistic skill set spans from various disciplines, including film photography, graphic design, and sculpture. However, it was her love for the Colorado landscape and a deep appreciation for art and sustainability that compelled her to return to her Texas roots. Eager to infuse Texas with these inspirations, she embarked on her own entrepreneurial venture, crafting her unique brand of hand-painted vintage cowboy boots. Within CHU Interiors, Gretchen's artistic sensibilities shine through in her affinity for organic textures and a rich palette of natural colors.
Gretchen’s role at CHU encompasses a wide range of tasks, from initially sourcing design inspiration to overseeing the intricate procurement processes. Her unwavering dedication to our clients fuels her passion for crafting interior spaces that seamlessly align with the client's vision while reflecting the aesthetic of CHU Interiors.
